After getting sick for the first time in what felt like years. I was trying to come up with some comfort tea's that pack a punch. This combination reminded me of my Neo Citran infused youth but without all of the added junk (Ascorbic acid, citric acid, D&C Yellow No. 10, FD&C Yellow No. 6, flavours, malic acid, sodium citrate, sucrose, titanium dioxide, tribasic calcium phosphate.)
Added bonus! Non-drowsy formula.
Fresh ginger root
Fresh turmeric root (you can use powder as well)
Unpasteurized Apple cider vinegar
Add a pot of boiling water to the stove. At least 1 liter of water. I like to use a medium size pot and I will continue adding water and more ginger/turmeric to it throughout the day while it stays simmering.
Chop the ginger and turmeric into 1/2 inch pieces, and add as many to the pot as you like. Altogether it should be a few inches of each, or more. Try smashing the ginger and turmeric with the back of your knife before adding to the pot to release more of the medicinal properties. Allow this decoction to simmer for at least 15 minutes. Scoop a cupful of the golden liquid into your mug. Add a teaspoon of the apple cider vinegar, a teaspoon of the honey, and the fresh lemon and orange slice.
Sit down, put away any paperwork, stop worrying about whatever it is you need to be getting done, because you are sick, and it is time to take care of YOU.
