 What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy can simply be defined as a relaxed, yet focused state of awareness, in which the mind is more receptive to new ideas and positive suggestions. We all go in and out of hypnosis multiple times per day; when we are engrossed in a good novel, when we cry during a movie, when we don’t remember driving from A to B, or when we are simply daydreaming.

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind. The difference in Hypnotherapy is that we have a specific goal and focus for the session. Hypnotherapy allows us to tap into our own inner guidance, as well as follow the suggestions and techniques of the Hypnotherapist in order to affect positive change.

Freud described the mind as an iceberg, stating that the conscious mind (the level that we are aware of in our daily lives) is only the tip of the iceberg. Yet 95% of the iceberg resides underwater - the subconscious mind. This is the part of the mind responsible for repetitive thought patterns, habits and behaviours.

Just like a record on repeat, we are all unknowingly controlled by our subconscious beliefs, so no matter how often we tell ourselves not to eat that extra piece of cake, stay up late or react to our spouse in the same old way, we find ourselves subconsciously doing it anyway! As we repeat the same limiting thought patterns and unwanted behaviours for years on end, we prove to ourselves that change is incredibly difficult for the conscious mind. In Hypnosis we are able to drop beneath the conscious mind into the subconscious and rewire those old limiting beliefs and habits.

Initial Hypnotherapy Session - $150 + GST

This session includes a half hour consult to discuss your goals and introduce you to Hypnotherapy, followed by a one hour Hypnotherapy session. 

A personalized audio is provided for you to listen to at home. 

Follow Up Hypnotherapy Session - $125 + GST

60 - 75 minute Hypnotherapy Session. Additional hypnotherapy audios and resources are provided when supportive.

Package of 3 - $350 + GST

Three Hypnotherapy Sessions, including the Initial Consult. A personalized audio is created for each client. Additional hypnotherapy audios and resources are provided when supportive.

This package allows you to delve into some real change work, ideal for those suffering from anxiety and depression. This option is also recommended for pain management, Hypno-birthing and Quit Smoking clients.

Package of 6 - $650 + GST

Six Hypnotherapy Sessions, including the Initial Consult. A personalized audio is created for each client. Additional hypnotherapy audios and resources are provided when supportive.

Past Life Regression - $150 + GST

90 minute session to explore one or more past lives and any review any lessons relevant to this current life.

The Broken Heart Cure - $150 + GST

A powerful blend of Hypnotherapy & Holistic Nutrition to make your weight loss goals a reality. This package is fully customized to the individual and consists of 4 two-hour sessions. Part of each session will cover Nutrition tailored to your needs and the other portion will be utilized for Hypnotherapy.

Holistic Nutrition encourages the use of whole foods to bring the body into a state of balance and harmony. Whole foods are foods which are as close to their natural state as possible.  

Holistic Nutrition is not concerned with calorie counting or avoiding fats or carbs, but about eating the right types of fats and carbs, nourishing your body and optimizing digestion. Shedding excess weight naturally follows.

About Sophia White


 Sophia became fascinated by the mind at a young age, when she developed a curiosity about what compels some people to succeed no matter what, whilst others remain unmotivated and controlled by habits.

This curiosity led her to study Hypnotherapy in 2008 at the Chrysalis Institute of Nanaimo, BC.  Intrigued & encouraged by the results of her clients, she became eager to learn more.

In 2011 she studied Quantum Healing Hypnosis Therapy with Dolores Cannon.

In 2012 she attended the NLP University & completed her NLP Master Certificate with Robert Diltz & Judith DeLozier.  The same year Sophia became aware of the newly emerging field of Medical Support Hypnotherapy and attended the Hypnotherapy Academy of America to become a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist & Medical Support Hypnotherapist. 

Sophia has witnessed the powerful transformative effects of Hypnotherapy in her own life and in the lives of her clients & peers.

How long do Sessions last?

Hypnotherapy sessions are 60 - 75 minutes long

What does Hypnosis feel like?

Hypnosis feels a little different for everyone, but is a deeply relaxed, dream like state, somewhere in-between the waking and sleep state. Some people may notice their bodies become very heavy, whilst others may experience a light, floaty feeling in trance. 

Can I get stuck in trance?

No. Hypnosis is a natural state and as such you would naturally wake from a trance, even if you were left alone.

Can anyone be hypnotized?

Yes. Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that we all enter into at least twice per day - on awaking and drifting to sleep. All that is required from you is a willingness to follow the suggestions of the Hypnotherapist, in order to experience a pleasant state of trance.

Will the Hypnotherapist be in control of me?

No. In Hypnosis your subconscious mind is in control and will guide you to where you need to go.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions required depends on the issue you are working with and is different for everyone. Generally, you will see a significant shift in just one session. However for deep transformational work three or more sessions are recommended. 

Is there Homework?

Yes. Every client is provided with a customized audio to listen to at home, as science has proven the power of repetition in retraining the mind. In addition, quick and easy strategies are often recommended to help ease anxiety or difficult emotions. As with anything in life, the more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.
